- Stardust – Stardust teleports directly into the now empty Captain’s Chair on the bridge, still invisible from her Techromancer magic and sitting upright with her legs crossed. She looks down at her translucent legs and smiles, knowing that her favorite boots are still there on her feet. Soon after, reality changes her demeanor as Stardust feels her organs being reconstructed from the Commander’s DNA weaponry. “Dad,” she whispers, “it’s me, Jane. My end is near and I’m coming to be with you in the heavens. You would be so proud of me today… I finally got to captain a starship, just like I remember you doing when I was young.” With that, she accesses the dreadnought’s navigation systems with no restrictions because the Commander’s key card is already in the slot on the arm of the chair. She issues the computer commands instructing it to lock in a collision course with the Stellar Degenerator. The Commander is still in the other room, oblivious to Stardust’s presence on the bridge. Fortunately for Stardust, her companions are risking their lives in the other room to ensure her success in this task. She hears them yelling over the intensity of battle and worries that they can’t hold out for too much longer. “The Exoeans cannot be allowed to alter this course,” Stardust mumbles to herself while working at the controls. “I’ve got to figure out how I can prevent guidance override but these undead systems are so strange.” The moment of frustration overcomes her and she sharply kicks the lower plate of the computer panel with the pointy toe of her boots. Just then, Stardust sees a message appear on the display confirming the acceptance of the control lockout operation. “God, I love these fuckin’ boots!”, she exclaims with a big smile. A moment later, she looks up from the screen to see her friends running across the bridge and entering the escape capsule. She smiles and uses her telepathic link to T’Sel to express her love of her dear friends, and then, receives a final “goodbye” back in return from the compassionate healer before the pod launches into the vacuum of space. Her eyes turn back to the viewport and a tear rolls down her cheek as the massive starship plows right into the heart of the weapon and over the next 10 minutes the entire length of the multi-mile ship was destroyed entirely.
